Either inaugurating a fresh new batch or holding a parent-teacher meeting is for us Don Bosco Tech, not just a formality, but rather an important milestone. The event was held on May 25, 2019, at HRC (Human Resource Center) hall at 10:30 am. For an event like this, Ms. Asha Wingman (President, Naga Women’s Union) was invited as the chief guest.

The program kick-started with the invocation of God's blessings, led by Fr. Ranjan (Administrator, Don Bosco college Maram) which followed a welcome song by the trainees. The welcome note was presented by George Hingba (Trainer, Data Entry Operator). The entire program stretched for two and a half hours. The trainees’ eye-catching performances were captivating to the audience.

Fr. Ranjan extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and thanked her for sparing her valuable time to be here. As he welcomed, he thanked the parents for coming from far off places. “You are lucky ones to have come to the place where the trainers not only teach skills but help you build up a sound character,” he said to the trainees as he welcomed them. Fr. Ranjan compared the Don Bosco Tech trainees with the 3-year-college students about discipline saying “These trainees, remarkably become a discipline within a short period.” He thus quoted Barak Obama saying “My parents did not give me materials but they taught me values, they taught me to be humble and grateful.”

Amos Ekka (State Coordinator, Dimapur) spoke about Don Bosco Tech Society saying “Our trainees are trained in aligned with the industry needs. Hence, they perform much better than those diploma holders.” He continued, “Don Bosco Tech, in North East India started in the year 2010. However, Maram center three years later. But it has so far trained 798 underprivileged youth of this region and has successfully placed 666 out of them.”

Ms. Asha appreciated the entire management of the center for not only catering to the needs of the privileged ones but also the deprived and dropped-out youth of the region. She said, “Not only giving training based on their interest and placing them but also nurturing entrepreneurs.” Added, “It is a great privilege to have skill training in our locality,” referring to growing unemployment rates both in Manipur and Nagaland.” She urged the parents to support the organization wholeheartedly saying ‘trainers work day in and day out just for the well-being of your wards.’ She encouraged the trainees ‘to grow in discipline.’

Thus the program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Kula Margaret(Trainer, F&B). This was followed by parent-teacher interaction.
